At Bennett Bunn Plantation in Zebulon, NC, we breed, raise and race Thoroughbreds. The wide open, historic farm grounds make Bennett Bunn an exceptional candidate for such breeding.  We also keep our Clydesdales and Spotted Draft/Friesian-cross for our carriage rides and Warmbloods and pony Hunter-Jumpers.

Due to our proximity to Raleigh, we race primarily on the mid-Atlantic tracks at Charles Town, West Virginia; Pimlico and Laurel in Maryland; Colonial Downs in Virginia; and Delaware Park in Delaware.  Tom Hendrickson was named North Carolina’s Breeder of the year by the North Carolina Thoroughbred Association in 2011, and was recognized at the Thoroughbred Owners & Breeders Association (TOBA) National Awards Dinner in Lexington, KY that fall.

Our first homebred, Dancin Banker, finished third in the $500,000 West Virginia Breeders Classic and was named 2009 Older Male Horse of the Year by the North Carolina Thoroughbred Association.
